Peak: Grosser Feistringstein (1836m)
A side peak of Hochschwab group in the Alps.
Location: Austria, Steyermark.
Getting there: From Alfenzer Bürgeralm parking lot. 1:40h
Ferrata: 20m to 40m depending on the style and wandering.
Characteristic: An easy tour with lots of horizontal sections. A C grade via ferrata with two blocks. First is a descending-traversing part for B grade. Second is a vertical crevisse for C grade. The ferrata is well built.
Descend: Same route.
Essential gear: Via ferrata set. Using helmet is very adviced because of the possibility of rock fall in the crevisse. In icy weather a small rope can help rapelling on the harder sections.
